What is wellness?
At CTX, we define wellness as the development of the “whole” self. A journey to wellness is the process of finding and applying skills and experiences that contribute to feeling healthy, balanced and fulfilled. It is the effective integration of thoughts, feelings and behaviors that contribute to this sense of balance. Here at CTX we incorporate many aspects of wellness into our programs, including:
What is Holistic Health?
Holistic health care encompasses every aspect of daily life. Nutrition, sleep, exercise, environmental demands, body-mind awareness and emotional balance concerns are all addressed when observing life holistically.
We offer natural, therapeutic supports and products that concentrate first on our health. Secondly we focus on your home environment, community, family, friends and lastly, the earth. We are aware that accessing the tools necessary to accomplish the holistic health approach can be somewhat inconvenient. That is why we research our products conclusively and work with those companies that share our philosophies.
Focusing on homotoxicology under the umbrella of holistic health speeds the healing process. Our body is a flow system. In today’s environment, considering all of the toxicity present, and our food industry that focuses on profit over health, our flow system has plenty of factors that congest, inflame, or block us from achieving optimal health.
Through BioEnergetic resonance assessments we can help identify and support the body to eliminate xenobiotics (toxins) such as food sensitivities, chemical exposures, bacterial and/or viral imbalances, parasites, heavy metals, etc., that restrict the flow of vibrant health.
Not all remedies and health care products are the same. We take pride in offering therapeutic grade nutritionals, botanicals and natural remedies that meet our standards.
What is Occupational Therapy?
The treatment of physical and developmental disorders, focused on improving and developing skills needed in everyday independence. Occupational therapy is geared toward issues regarding fine motor skills, sensory, visual motor and/or motor planning.
OT services the needs of children and adults. We are dedicated to evaluating our patient’s individual needs and providing therapeutic interventions that best support recovery and wellness, and maximize functional independence.
What is Craniosacral Therapy?
CranioSacral Therapy is a powerful yet light touch manual therapy. Our therapists are able to palpate and often release restrictions to the craniosacral system which encompasses the membranes and fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Imbalances are created by restrictions, many of which result from the effects of cumulative physical or emotional stress, physical injury, birth trauma, neurological conditions and other environmental influences.

What is Sensory Integration(processing) Disorder?
Sensory integration (also called sensory processing) refers to the way the nervous system receives messages from the senses and turns them into appropriate motor and behavioral responses. No matter what you are doing, your successful completion of the activity requires processing sensation or “sensory integration.”
Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) is a condition that exists when sensory signals don’t get organized into appropriate responses. Pioneering occupational therapist and neuroscientist A. Jean Ayres, PhD, compared SPD to a neurological “traffic jam” that prevents certain parts of the brain from receiving the information needed to interpret sensory information correctly. A person with SPD finds it difficult to process and act upon information received through the senses. Motor clumsiness, behavioral problems, anxiety, depression and problems in school are some of the things may result if the disorder is not treated effectively.
Sensory Processing Disorder can affect people in one sense–for example, just touch or just sight or just movement–or in many senses. A person with SPD may over-respond to sensation and find clothing, physical contact, light, sound, food, or other sensory input to be intolerable. Someone else might under-respond and have little or no reaction to stimulation, even pain or extreme temperatures. In children whose sensory processing of messages from the muscles and joints is impaired, posture and motor skills can be affected. Still others show a desire for sensation that is in constant overdrive.

What is BioEnergetic Medicine
BioEnergetic Medicine embraces the understanding that our bodies are organisms composed of various systems. These systems are made up of organs. Our organs are composed of tissue; that tissue is made up of cells; cells are composed of compounds. Those compounds are made up molecules and those molecules composing everything in our bodies are made up of atoms.
An atom contains a nucleus full of protons and neutrons—orbiting the nucleus are electrons. The spin of those electrons is what gives us our vibrational frequency.
BioEnergetic remedies are often used to stimulate a healing response to support the immune system in its efforts to realign energetic patterns of health. Combining BioEnergetic medicine with the principles of homotoxicology (human toxins) is a deeply supportive form of medicine that understands health symptoms as an effective means of communication from within our various systems. It is up to the practitioner to educate and empower patients in the utilization of this form of powerful, functional medicine.
Cranial Assessment of BioResonance (CAB), developed by Todd Stelik, OTR/L, CHHP, is a subtle, manual technique that assesses the body’s natural cranial rhythms and uses biofeedback offered by the autonomic nervous system to gather relevant health information. This information is then used to generate individualized BioEnergetic protocols to support manual therapy.
An innovative new addition to this technique is a quick and easy way to reduce the symptoms of allergies through energetic desensitization.
Common energetic imbalances that can be supported at the Center via BioEnergetic Medicine are:
- Allergies – both Food-related and Environmental
- Bacterial and Fungal Imbalances
- Developmental Delays
- Digestive Disorders – ‘Leaky Gut’
- Emotional Imbalances – Traumatic and Chronic
- Heavy Metal Toxicity
- Immune System Deficiencies
- Neurotransmitter Imbalances
- Nutritional Deficiencies
- Pediatric Health Issues
- Viral Overburden
- Parasite Overgrowth
How does food and nutrition impact daily life?
Food and nutrition affect the health, learning and behavior associated with many childhood and adult disorders. Because body and brain are connected, you can improve or eliminate symptoms of autism, ADHD and other issues by giving special attention to the food and nutrition children receive.
To determine the best diet for a particular individual, you must consider: digestive capacity, bio-individuality, family history, inflammation, symptoms present, and more. The diet that’s best for one person, may not be right for another. Depending on the individual, any of these diets can be healing: Gluten-free casein-free, SCD, GAPS Diet, Paleo, Low oxalate, Body Ecology, Failsafe, Feingold, Low FODMAPS, or another diets.
There are many improvements when parents take charge of diet—here are some of the most commonly reported:
- Better Attention
- Reduced hyperactivity
- Improved eye-contact and socialization
- Improved digestion
- Reduced constipation and diarrhea
- Less rash or eczema
- Physical pain relieved
- Decreased aggression
- Language skills increase
- More calm
- Sleeping through the night
- Easier toilet training
