The RIPPLE Approach

Using our unique RIPPLE Approach to treatment,  allows us to influence and positively support those areas that are affected by the ongoing cycle of intake, processing and output.

Our clinic staff focuses on achieving an overall balance of this cycle using strategies and techniques that take into consideration each individual need.  We assess the areas of environment, nutrition, sleep and daily activity when supporting families. Our clinic therapy includes occupational therapy, occupational therapy and craniosacral therapy.

Our expression of physical and emotional health are a reflection of how we relate and respond to any given environment.  We rely on all of our senses to take in information, process it, then generate a response.

What is the RIPPLE Approach

This framework allows us to subtly influence areas of imbalance as they occur throughout the day in very powerful ways!!

Removal of Toxins: This is done by evaluating for possible environmental toxins such as common cleaners, air fresheners, food sensitivities, detergents, pesticides, or other agricultural chemicals, pinpointing any emotional trauma or over reactivity, and by evaluating any sensory based triggers leading to overload and chronic stress.

Integrated Nutrition: We support this by finding and educating our clients about any possible food allergies and sensitivities. We believe that by advising the consumption of “foods for focus,” “power foods” and supplements for aiding in healing and balance as well as teaching to understand the role of foods on behavior, sleep and health, we are helping out clients make changes that can help with their long term quality of life. We are uniquely skilled in this area which sets us apart from other practitioners.

Power Parenting: Let us help you by giving you the tools to support positive development in your child’s day to day routines. We offer ways to provide you and your family a sense of calm during turbulent times/transitions and advice on how to communicate with purpose for improved follow through when dealing with negative behaviors or challenging conditions.

Playing with a Purpose: For our pediatric clients, we believe in “power play” which integrates sensory based play throughout the day for improved regulation. We teach how to better understand sensory integration by using the “power sensations” ( vestibular, proprioceptive and tactile). We have the ability to schedule small groups when appropriate, to facilitate appropriate group play. This is done in regards to clients age, diagnosis and parent consent.

Listening to Our Bodies Cues: Our bodies speak to us in many ways. Sometimes we need a little help understanding what is being said. During our treatments you will learn to identify the subtle signs of dysregulation and how to address these before problematic behaviors arise. You will begin to understand the importance of: being able to wait and remain regulated (which is more difficult than you’d think), being able to use the tools and techniques to help when needed and to better understand how these behaviors impact daily performance.

Ending the Day: Rest is very important. Many of us struggle with winding down at the end of the day or when appropriate to stay calm. We can help you or your child establish appropriate sleep routines, evaluate balanced TV/iPad times and learn relaxation techniques to support this very important area.

The RIPPLE Approach for Adults & Children

We use the RIPPLE Approach and adapt it to our adult client needs. Inflammation can enter the body in numerous ways. Our unique assessment approach allows us to tap into subtle shifts in the body response to toxins, where they are allergens, environmental chemicals, heavy metals, microbes or the buildup of stress and how it affects the body.

The body is a flow system that can get congested over time leading to pressure and inflammation. Understanding and working with this process allows for deep healing to occur. Working with the design of the body in a way that it appreciates and understands.

My family was fortunate enough to have Aaron and Todd recommended to us over 7 years ago. Not only did they both help us as a family but their work changed my sons life. He would not be the 23 year old confident kid he is now of it wasn’t for them and the support and guidance they provided. We have all benefited from the services as a family and would highly recommend them to anyone

I love how kind everyone is in the office. They are great clinicians who are willing to look outside of the box to help their patients. Also, very patient and understanding of kids and their unique challenges and differences.
